Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming film OG has garnered unprecedented buzz. While the gangster drama is inching close to $2 million in terms of advance premiere ticket sales overseas, back home too, OG is hitting the headlines for all the right reasons. The Sujeeth directorial is slated for release on September 25, and the filmmakers have designed interesting promotional campaigns.

OG to be part of ‘Vijayawada Utsav’

With Dasara festival around the corner and Navrathri scheduled to begin from September 22 to October 2, the government of Andhra Pradesh has grandly organized a cultural extravaganza, ‘Vijayawada Utsav.’ The idea is to showcase the state’s rich culture, traditions, art, and historical heritage during this 10-day carnival. Pawan Kalyan being the deputy Chief minister of the state, buzz is that the team of OG will incorporate the film’s promotional activities during the festive season. While the details of the event remain under wraps for now, buzz is that the promotions of OG are expected to align with the Utsav. A source in the know informs, “The filmmakers are planning to have a pre-release event in Vijayawada… a couple of days before the film’s release. While several pre-release events have earlier been organized in the city, this time, the makers wanted their film’s promotions to be in sync with the festive carnival. Also, fans believe that Navrathri is a great time to push the film’s content for greater visibility and traction.”

On the other hand, the pre-release events of Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, and Balakrishna-starrer Akhanda 2, are reportedly held in Vijayawada, early next year. However, the dates of the two events are yet to be announced. While the respective filmmakers are working on the film’s production presently, soon, a delegation from the film unit would meet the AP government authorities and finalize things.
