Fans of the popular show CID were left shocked recently when it was revealed that Shivaji Satam’s character, ACP Pradyuman, had died in a bomb blast. As Satam bids farewell to CID after 26 years, the show will introduce actor Parth Samthaan, who will portray Daya and Abhijeet’s new boss, ACP Ayushmaan.
Talking about his entry as ACP Ayushmaan in CID, Parth told Aaj Tak, “We have grown up watching this iconic Sony TV show. When I discussed this with my family, they initially thought I was joking. But later they felt very proud. It’s a big responsibility to fill in such humongous shoes of ACP Pradhyuman. I am entering as ACP Ayushmaan. It’s a new character with a new storyline. I had never imagined having a collaboration like this. I have worked on romantic shows in the past. This is in the thriller space, and everyone knows about it, so I feel glad to be a part of it.”

Spilling the beans on what to expect from CID, Parth shared that there is a lot of tension in store. He said, “Going ahead on the show, ACP Pradhyuman will die, perhaps it’s a murder, and to solve that case, a new ACP is appointed. It is not like everybody will immediately begin following my orders because me being a young character coming out as their boss won’t be easy. So there will be a lot of conflict and tension.”
On the work front, Parth Samthaan has been a part of shows like Kaisi Yeh Yariyaan and Kausutii Zindagi Kay 2. He was also seen in the film Ghudchadi along with Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon.
