This comes a day after the DMK led a fiery protest against delimitation, wearing t-shirts with slogans inside the House. Ruckus ensued after the Speaker urged all protesting MPs to come back to the Parliament in “proper shape”, with eventually both Houses getting adjourned for the day.
BJP’s whip to all MPs: The BJP issued a whip to all its members of Parliament to be present in the House today for the passing of the Union Budget 2025-26. In a three line whip issued on Thursday, the party said, “All BJP members in Lok Sabha are hereby informed that guillotining of various demands for Grants 2025-26 will be taken up for passing in the House on Friday. All members of BJP in Lok Sabha are, therefore, requested to be positively present in the House throughout the day and support the government’s stands.”
What happened in Parliament yesterday? Lok Sabha was adjourned multiple times on Thursday after Opposition MPs wore t-shirts with slogans against delimitation inside the House. Krishna Prasad Tenneti, who was in the Chair, urged the MPs to remain in their seats and be present in the Parliament in “proper shape.” However, the uproar by the MPs led to repeated adjournments.
