The OnePlus 15 is expected to land towards the end of this year, and some new information just surfaced. Based on the info that a trusted source shared, the OnePlus 15 will have a gigantic battery, but more info was shared.
This information is based on the ‘engineering model’ of the device
The info comes from Digital Chat Station, one of China’s most accurate tipsters. Do note that the information he shared is based on an ‘engineering model’, so there could be some changes moving forward.
Before we get down to it, some of you are probably wondering why did I say OnePlus 15 instead of OnePlus 14, as the OnePlus 13 arrived last year. No, it’s not a typo. The number ‘4’ is considered to be unlucky in China, so some OEMs avoid it, like OnePlus.
What’s interesting is that OnePlus did not avoid this number for all products. The OnePlus Nord 4 was announced last year, for example, along with some other products. The company did, however, ditch the OnePlus 4, and jumped from the OnePlus 3 to the OnePlus 5 in the past. So… it could go either way. The OnePlus 14 name is still an option.
The OnePlus 15 could feature a gigantic 7,000mAh battery and 100W charging
In any case, the tipster says that the engineering model features a gigantic 7,000mAh battery on the inside. It also supports 100W wired charging. That device is also IP68/IP69 certified, and it has a large vibration motor included.
Furthermore, a flat display is included, an OLED one, as is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner which is placed under the display. The tipster also mentioned a fiberglass back cover. On top of that, he also said that the phone is very light and thin.
The OnePlus 13 arrived back in October last year. It took it until January to arrive to global markets, though. Something similar could happen with the OnePlus 15, but stay tuned.
