One UI 8 Beta signups explode

One UI 8 Beta signups explode

With all of the drama and delays surrounding One UI 7, you’d expect excitement for One UI 8 to be pretty lukewarm. However, that’s not the case. According to a new report,  the One UI 8 beta has reached maximum capacity.

Now that all the drama with One UI 7 is over, the company can move forward with its plans. If you recall, Samsung struggled immensely with One UI 7. It took months for the company to even release the beta. After that, it struggled to distribute it to all of the compatible devices. Nevertheless, things eventually calmed down, and people are getting a taste of the new Samsung.

The One UI 8 beta is at maximum capacity

Honestly, it’s pretty surprising that Samsung was so quick to get started with One UI 8, but rumor had it that the company planned to do this from the get-go. Normally, Samsung would launch smaller updates after a major platform upgrade. For example, after the company launched One UI 6, it launched One UI 6.1 and One UI 6.1.1.

However, Samsung will skip from One UI 7 straight to One UI 8. And, it appears that people are standing in line to try it out. Samsung opened the beta test for One UI 8, and it is already at max capacity in the U.S. We don’t know how many slots were open, but the U.S. is a major market for Samsung, so we are sure that it was a pretty decent number.

Samsung also released the beta in Germany, South Korea, and the UK. There’s no telling if the queue filled up for those regions as well.

It’s rather surprising that so many people are excited for this latest version. As it goes, subsequent platform upgrades after a major revamp typically offer very little in terms of change. When Google released Android 12, that was a major shift from the design mentality of Android up to that point. However, Android 13, Android 14, and Android 15 brought incremental upgrades.

One UI 7 was a huge revamp for Samsung’s Android skin. It brought new icons, a new aesthetic, and some Spotlight features. So, we don’t expect One UI 8 to flip the script. However, people seem to be responding to it regardless.

If you are excited to try out the One UI 8 beta, you’re going to have to wait for a future beta release. Trying to access it now will only give you a message saying, “We’ve reached the participant limit for this beta program. Thanks for your interest. Try again for the next beta.”
