Nissan Motor India has announced plans to expand its product lineup with two new vehicles set to launch in the financial year 2025. The company will introduce a 5-seater compact SUV (C-SUV) and an all-new 7-seater B-segment multi-purpose vehicle (B-MPV) as part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in the Indian market.
The announcement was made at Nissan’s Global Product Showcase Event in Yokohama, Japan, where the company outlined its plans for the Indian automotive sector. These new models will join Nissan’s existing lineup, which includes two previously announced C-SUVs (5-seater and 7-seater), an affordable electric vehicle, the new Nissan Magnite, and the Nissan X-TRAIL.
The upcoming 5-seater C-SUV draws design inspiration from the Nissan Patrol, featuring an exterior suited to the highly competitive and fast-growing SUV segment in India. Meanwhile, the 7-seater B-MPV incorporates a bold C-shaped grille and muscular styling, following Nissan’s signature design approach.
The 7-seater B-MPV is scheduled to launch in FY25, followed by the 5-seater C-SUV in early FY26. Nissan has released teaser images for both models, confirming their development and expected timelines. By FY26, the company aims to offer four vehicles in India, catering to the B, C, and D-SUV segments.
According to Nissan, the new C-SUV will feature advanced technologies and be designed for Indian road conditions, with a high approach and departure angle. The B-MPV, on the other hand, is positioned to appeal to customers seeking spacious seating and comfort without compromising on driving dynamics.
Nissan has set a target of achieving 100,000 units in combined annual domestic sales and exports from India. Both new models will be produced at the Alliance JV plant in Chennai, aligning with global manufacturing standards to cater to both local and international markets.
Building on the success of the Nissan Magnite, the new C-SUV will also be manufactured in India and exported worldwide. This will be the second model from the Chennai plant to follow Nissan’s ‘One Car, One World’ strategy, reinforcing the company’s commitment to expanding its footprint in multiple markets.
