
National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Chairman Shaji K V has called on Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and appraised him about the bank’s various ongoing initiatives in the State.
He said the bank offered financial support to various infrastructure projects in agriculture, irrigation, drinking water supply, dairy development, oil palm plantation, education and healthcare.
He assured all possible collaboration with the Telangana Government for its efforts in agriculture and rural development including the cooperative sector, which was considered to be the backbone of the primary sector, a NABARD statement said here on Friday.
“They discussed collaboration opportunities in the Central scheme on the cooperation among cooperatives and promotion of new primary agricultural societies. The Chief Minister has assured all possible support to the bank in its efforts to develop the State,” it said.
“They also discussed collaboration opportunities in the power sector, construction of godowns through self-help groups, building palm oil extraction and processing capacities and in the micro, small and medium enterprises,” he said.
