In an unbelievable case of extortion, Khar Police have arrested three transgender individuals who allegedly threatened and tried to extort a delivery boy.
According to the police officials, three transgender individuals demanded Rs 15,000 from the delivery boy. The three accused also warned the victim that if he refused to pay them, then they would deceptively accuse him of molestation and drag him to the police station.
The three transgender accused have been identified as Sandhya Pradhan, Nagendra Sardar, and Kavita Kadam by Khar Police. The victim who later filed a complaint against them is said to be a 29-year-old Santacruz (West) resident. He works as a delivery boy for a food delivery company in Mumbai.
According to police officials, this frightening extortion incident occurred on May 24, 2025, at around 8:45 PM. When the 29-year-old man was walking near the Titanic replica structure at Carter Road in Bandra West for a delivery. He needed to relieve himself and couldn’t find a public toilet nearby. After not being able to locate a public toilet around the area, he eventually entered the nearby mangroves via a footpath.
Adding to that, the police officers stated, “At that moment, three transgender individuals approached him, clapping their hands and demanding money. Shaikh willingly offered them Rs 500, but when they refused, he offered Rs 1,000. However, the three demanded Rs 15,000 and allegedly threatened that they would not accept even a rupee less. When Shaikh refused to give the money, the three started creating a scene and threatened to tear their clothes and falsely accuse him of molestation.”
After getting petrified, Shaikh immediately rushed out of the mangrove area. Luckily there was a patrolling police van nearby; he rushed to the police van and informed the police officers about the incident. Swiftly acting on his report, the police entered the mangroves, detained the three individuals, and brought them to the Khar Police Station.
