In a coordinated operation between Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh police, officers from Pydhonie Police Station successfully traced and apprehended a murder accused who had been absconding for seven years. The accused, identified as Rajaram Ramadhar Tiwari (35), a resident of Pipra village under Barhi Police Station limits in Katni district, Madhya Pradesh, was wanted in connection with a 2018 murder case.
According to officials, on November 6, 2025, a team from Barhi Police Station, District Katni, comprising Police Sub-Inspector Rishabh Singh Baghel, Police Constable (No. 669) Ankit Badgaiya, and Police Constable (No. 675) Dilip Kol, arrived at Pydhonie Police Station in Mumbai seeking assistance in locating the fugitive. The case, registered under Crime No. 329/18, pertains to offences under Sections 302, 294, 323, 324, 506, 147, and 148 of the Indian Penal Code.
The Madhya Pradesh team suspected that Tiwari had been hiding somewhere within the Pydhonie Police jurisdiction. Acting on this information, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 2, directed Senior Police Inspector of Pydhonie Division and PI Abhijeet Shinde, along with PI Pagar, to initiate a search.
Under their supervision, API Razzak Shaikh, PSI Kalpesh Chavan, and the Crime Detection Squad — including Head Constables Thakur (No. 081269) and Shende (No. 080204), and Constable Itape (No. 130288) — launched a swift operation to trace the accused.
The team successfully located Tiwari near Balgi Hotel on the footpath along P. D’Mello Road in Masjid Bunder (East), Mumbai. He was taken into custody and brought to Pydhonie Police Station for interrogation, during which he confessed to his involvement in the 2018 murder case.
Following verification, the accused was formally handed over to the Barhi Police team for further legal proceedings in Madhya Pradesh.
Police officials lauded the swift coordination between the two states’ law enforcement agencies that led to the capture of a fugitive who had managed to evade arrest for nearly seven years.
