The Powai Police have arrested a 60-year-old man for allegedly beating his wife to death inside their residence at Chandivali, Powai.

The accused has been identified as Rajiv Chandrabhan Lala (60), a businessman residing at Room No. 309, B Wing, Aditya Vardhan Building, Chandivali, Powai. Police said the incident took place on Sunday morning. Lala was arrested with the assistance of the detection staff.

The deceased has been identified as R. Shalini Devi (60), wife of the accused. She was rushed to Rajawadi Hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Medical reports stated that she had multiple injuries on her right ear, forehead, head, nostrils, neck, chest, waist, right knee, and wrist.

A case has been registered under the relevant charges of murder at Powai police station, and officers are carrying out further investigation.
