An alleged witchcraft attempt to frighten an elderly woman in the Malad area has come to light. The Malad Police have registered a case.
According to police, an elderly woman living with three domestic helpers in a bungalow in Malad filed a complaint that an unknown man used witchcraft to intimidate her.
As per the FIR, the suspect allegedly placed two photographs of a woman in white, along with pots containing a broken pot, incense sticks, lemons, eggs, rice, and saffron, outside the woman’s house. Investigators believe the act was aimed at scaring the woman and exploiting her for personal gain.
While the victim was still reeling from this episode, another disturbing incident occurred three days ago. A local woman found a coconut, sliced lemons, saffron, rice, and other witchcraft items wrapped in white cloth and tied with a rope behind the complainant’s bungalow. She alerted the Malad police.
Taking cognisance, the police registered a case under relevant sections of the BNS, including the Maharashtra Prevention of Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman Practices and Witchcraft Act, against an unknown person and launched a search for the culprit behind the incident.
