On Tuesday, the trailer of Hridayapoorvam was released, stirring nostalgia for fans of Mohanlal and director Sathyan Anthikad. The pair, who last collaborated in Ennum Eppozhum (2015), return to theatres this Onam with a film set to release on August 28. Their 18th collaboration comes under Antony Perumbavoor’s banner Aashirvad Cinemas, continuing a legacy of feel-good entertainers that balance social commentary with slice-of-life storytelling.

A Long-Awaited Reunion

The trailer begins with Mohanlal in a reflective mood, speaking to a bemused Sangeeth Prathap. He compares hidden truths to a breeze sneaking through a half-closed door—unexpected, unsettling, and capable of pulling one into emotional depths they never planned for. When pressed to explain, his character confesses that he himself is caught in such a moment, leaving the rest shrouded in mystery. These contemplative notes soon give way to brisk city visuals, underscored by the soothing song Hridayame, hinting at the film’s blend of introspection and everyday warmth.

Alongside Mohanlal, the film stars Malavika Mohanan and Sangita in significant roles.
