MET Gala 2025 highlights: SRK, Diljit Dosanjh, Priyanka Chopra dazzle

The MET Gala 2025 has concluded and some of the biggest names in India walked the daisy spotted blue carpet. While Kiara Advani made her debut with her baby bump, Bollywood`s badshah Shah Rukh Khan walked for the first time in a custom-made outfit by Sabyasachi.

Isha Ambani`s opulent necklace

Mukesh and Nita Ambani`s only daughter, Isha Ambani’s 2025 Met Gala look exuded modern royalty with Anamika Khanna’s Black dandy-inspired design, dewy glam, and statement accessories. The Heiress wore the iconic Jeanne Toussaint Cartier necklace, worth $150 million(approx Rs 1200 crore), which belongs to her mother, Nita Ambani and was once worn by the Maharaja of Nawanagar and famously featured in Ocean’s 8. A royal jewel reborn on fashion’s grandest stage.

Shah Rukh Khan makes MET Gala debut

“I`m Shah Rukh”. That was his opening line and also his smashing debut at the Met Gala in an all-black bespoke outfit, complete with crystal chains and a dandy cane, crafted by celebrated designer Sabysachi. The star, one of India`s most popular faces globally, also struck his signature arms-wide-open pose, and won over the crowd, some who knew him and some who didn`t, gathered at the blue carpet dotted with daisies.

Shah Rukh wore a crystal-studded pendant shaped as the letter `K` in one of the necklaces around his neck, a nod perhaps to his nickname `King Khan`. The actor blew kisses to fans as he made his way around the blue carpet of the starry event, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday night.
For his debut appearance at the Met ball, the actor wore a floor-length elongated coat in Tasmanian superfine wool with monogrammed, Japanese horn buttons.
“The coat is hand canvassed, single-breasted with a peak collar and wide lapels. Paired with a crepe de chine silk shirt and tailored superfine wool trousers. A pleated satin kamarbandh completes this bespoke look,” Sabyasachi said.

Diljit Dosanjh`s Maharaj look

Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh won hearts by honouring his Sikh roots at his Met Gala debut. Diljit walked the iconic stairs of the Metropolitan Museum wearing a turban (a symbol of Sikh identity), a kurta, and a tehmat (a long tunic and draped bottoms). The custom-made number was designed by Prabal Gurung, who also created actor Alia`s pearl gown for the 2023 Met Gala.

He elevated his traditional look with a jewel-studded turban and a layered diamond necklace by Golecha`s Jewels–an homage to Maharaja Bhupinder Singh`s iconic Patiala necklace by Cartier. Diljit also carried a lion-headed, jewel-studded kirpan (sword).

Kiara Advani wears bejewelled umbilical cord chain

Actor Kiara Advani, who is expecting her first child debuted in a custom-made Gaurav Gupta couture titled “Bravehearts” at the 2025 edition of the Met Gala.

“In creating this piece for Kiara, we wanted to honour her motherhood and pay homage to the bold elegance of Black style. The look bridges continents and histories, merging a deep symbolism with the radical refinement of Black dandyism,” the designer said in a post shared on his official Instagram page.
“A tribute to defiance, legacy, and new beginnings. Bravehearts is built on the spirit of the Black Dandy – those who challenged norms and reshaped culture with grace, strength, and individuality,” he added.

Kiara, who posed for the shutterbugs at the Met Gala as she caressed her baby bump, looked radiant in the monochrome garment with a gold sculpted breastplate with two hearts – “mother and child, connected by an abstract umbilical cord”.

Priyanka Chopra`s Hollywood glam

Fashion met nostalgia, romance, and haute couture as global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas graced the Met Gala 2025 carpet alongside husband and singer Nick Jonas, hand in hand, embodying glamour with a twist of dandy flair. This marks the actress`s fifth appearance at the fashion industry`s biggest event, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Chopra turned heads in a tailored polka dot suit dress, a bespoke creation by Olivier Rousteing of Balmain, perfectly in sync with the gala`s theme: `Superfine: Tailoring Black Style`.

Mona Patel walks with robotic dog

Indian-American tech entrepreneur and philanthropist Mona Patel walked the blue carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York with a spine and a robotic dog. Dressed in one-of-a-kind custom Thom Browne, Patel walked on the hollow steps of the Met with a robotic dog “Vector,” inspired by Thom Browne`s Hector Bag. A shirt with a halter-neck peaked through a sharply tailored suit that stayed anchored in back and came together in a black, beaded corset-style bodice that cinched at the waist.
