Man in Dwarka accidentally shoots mother, family attempts cover-up: Police | Delhi News

A 52-year-old woman from Dhulsiras village in Dwarka was accidentally shot on Sunday, allegedly by her son. According to police, the PCR call was received by the Sector-23 police station around 1 am from a nearby hospital, alerting authorities about the woman’s condition.

Initially, the woman and her husband allegedly misled the police by claiming that an unknown assailant had shot her while she was closing the main gate of their house.

“During the investigation, their son admitted having shot his mother. He already has six cases registered against him, including attempt to culpable homicide, and outraging the modesty of women. The weapon was recovered near a tree. A wet mop suspected to have been used to clean the blood was also recovered,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh.

Medical reports indicate that the woman sustained a gunshot injury near her lower chest, which caused minor liver damage. She is currently undergoing treatment, and her condition is reported to be stable. Further investigation is on, said police.
