Man booked for driving school bus into society in Ghatlodia, hitting parked cars | Ahmedabad News

The Ahmedabad Traffic Police on Wednesday booked the driver of a private school bus for driving the vehicle into Srinath Society in Ghatlodia and hitting several cars parked there. Eyewitnesses claimed that the accused was driving the vehicle in a drunken state.

The FIR stated that since the owner of the bus had agreed to pay for the damage caused to the cars, their owners did not file a complaint. Thus the FIR in the case was filed by the police on behalf of the state government.

A statement from the traffic police said, “On April 2, news was circulated on social media that at around 1 pm, a school bus hit a wall and pillar in front of the Srinath Society in the Ghatlodia area and hit parked cars. ‘The people present there caught the driver and eyewitnesses claim that the driver was in a drunken state and the school bus was empty, but if the drivers are taking the school bus in this way, then some big incident can happen in the future’.”

Officials ‘A’ Traffic Police Station had also reached the spot.
The unidentified driver has been booked under Section 281 (rash driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita as well as under several sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
