
A man was allegedly beaten to death in Malwani area of Mumbai over an affair and the suspect, the brother of the woman, later surrendered before the police, an official said on Sunday.
According to the police, the officials recovered a man’s body from bushes near the T-junction on Malwani Marve Road. The deceased was later identified as Rajesh Solanki (39), a resident of Jogeshwari.
The police said that investigations revealed that the accused and the victim knew each other. The accused’s sister was allegedly in a relationship with the victim, who had been avoiding marriage.
“Upset over it, the accused called him to meet, and after both consumed alcohol together, he killed Solanki by beating him with a bamboo stick,” an official said/
He said that the suspect, a 21-year-old man, who surrendered at the police station and confessed to the crime have been arrested in the matter.
Police was further conducting a detailed probe into the matter, he said.
