Logout trailer: Babil Khan is a social media star willing to kill or die for his phone. Watch | Bollywood News

‘Do you control your phone or does it control you?’ That’s the question at the heart of Babil Khan’s latest flick, Logout. The makers unveiled the film’s trailer on Wednesday. Logout also stars Rasika Dugal in a pivotal role.

The trailer introduces Babil as a young social media influencer named Pratush Dua, who is on the verge of hitting 10 million followers. At one point, he argues, “We don’t just watch stuff on our phone, we live in it.” It’s evident that he earns his living by being an influencer. However, his carefully curated life and livelihood spiral out of control when one of his jilted followers steals his phone in a desperate attempt to get noticed. What begins as a digital obsession soon turns into a violent showdown, as Babil’s controlled world descends into chaos and his battle with the follower turns bloody.

Babil Khan admitted that the film Logout pushed him out of his comfort zone. He said, “This role truly pushed me out of my comfort zone, immersing me in the digital world — a space that’s both fascinating and dangerously unpredictable. Playing a modern-day influencer and navigating the complexities of virtual success was a unique challenge, especially since my character is so different from who I am in real life. I’m incredibly proud to be part of a story that feels so relevant today, shedding light on the darker side of our online lives. Logout is an intense, fast-paced thriller, and I can’t wait for viewers to join my character, Pratyush, on this gripping journey”.

Logout is directed by Amit Golani and written by Biswapati Sarkar. Apart from Babil and Rasika Dugal, the film also stars Nimisha Nair and Gandharv Dewan in pivotal roles. Logout will release on Zee5 on April 18, but the film has already been screened at various international film festivals, including the 21st Indian Film Festival Stuttgart 2024, Mar del Plata 2024, Indian Film Festival Melbourne 2024, and the River to River Florence Indian Film Festival 2024.
