Kia India reported 22,315 vehicle dispatches in the domestic market for May 2025, representing a year-on-year growth of 14.43% compared to 19,500 units sold in May 2024. This marks the fifth consecutive month of growth for the South Korean automaker in the Indian market.
The May performance follows a strong April showing where the company dispatched 23,623 vehicles, registering an 18.3% year-on-year growth over the 19,968 units sold in April 2024. Combined, the two months demonstrate sustained demand for Kia’s product lineup in India’s competitive automotive market.
The Sonet led Kia’s sales in April with 8,068 units, followed by the Seltos at 6,135 units. The Carens maintained strong demand with 5,259 units, while the newly launched Syros contributed 4,000 units to the total. The premium MPV Carnival Limousine added 161 units to April’s figures.
The newly launched Carens Clavis received considerable customer response in May, according to the company. Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior Vice President and National Head of Sales & Marketing at Kia India, attributed the performance to customer trust in the Kia brand and the company’s diverse product offerings across segments.
Kia India established its manufacturing operations in August 2019 at the Anantapur facility in Andhra Pradesh, which has an installed annual production capacity of 300,000 units. The company has launched eight vehicles for the Indian market: the Seltos, Syros, Sonet, Carens, Carnival, EV6, EV9, and the recently introduced Carens Clavis.
The automaker has completed approximately 1.5 million vehicle dispatches from its Anantapur plant, including over 1.2 million domestic sales and more than 367,000 exports. Kia India operates through a network of 744 touchpoints across 329 cities nationwide.
Looking ahead, the company announced plans to unveil a new product in July 2025, which it describes as designed to blend sustainability with design excellence and advanced technology. The upcoming offering is positioned to meet evolving mobility requirements of Indian consumers.
In the current calendar year 2025, following the launch of the Syros, Kia India has recorded a 16.2% year-on-year growth compared to the same period last year.
