Keerthy Suresh’s upcoming Tamil action-comedy Revolver Rita has locked a new release date. Originally planned for an August 27 premiere, the film will now open in theatres on November 28, the makers confirmed on Sunday.

Directed by K Chandru, Revolver Rita marks the filmmaker’s return after more than a decade since his 2013 fantasy comedy Naveena Saraswathi Sabatham. The film stars Keerthy in a high-energy, eccentric role that blends humour with stylized action, a refreshing departure from her recent serious turns.

The supporting cast features Radikaa Sarathkumar, Redin Kingsley, Mime Gopi, Sendrayan, and veteran stunt coordinator Super Subbarayan. The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Dinesh Krishnan B, editor Praveen KL, and art director Vinoth Rajkumar. Revolver Rita is produced by Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy, with Aishwarya Suresh serving as the creative producer.

Following its theatrical run, the movie will reportedly stream on Netflix, ensuring a wide digital reach.

A stylish new outing for Keerthy Suresh

The new release date gives Revolver Rita breathing space from a crowded August schedule and allows the team to amplify its promotional campaign. The film’s first-look posters and teasers have already generated buzz, showing Keerthy Suresh wielding guns and attitude in equal measure. The visuals promise a quirky, larger-than-life character, a blend of comedy, chaos, and confidence.

This marks Keerthy’s first Tamil release of the year, following a busy 2024 where she balanced multiple projects across languages. She was seen in Siren and Raghu Thatha in Tamil, Baby John in Hindi, and voiced the robot Bujji in the sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD. The actor was last seen in the Telugu film Uppu Kappurambu, directed by Ani IV Sasi, alongside Suhas, Babu Mohan, and Subhalekha Sudhakar.

A recent single titled Happy Birthday from Revolver Rita was released to coincide with Keerthy’s birthday celebrations, offering audiences a first glimpse at the film’s colourful tone. The track quickly gained traction on social media, adding to the anticipation surrounding the project.
