The Mumbai police on Wednesday arrested a Mulund-based man for allegedly making a threat call to the police control room. The police said the caller seemed to be mentally disturbed and was upset with the police.
An officer said that around 1 am on Tuesday, the Mumbai police control room received a call from a mobile number. The caller started abusing the Mumbai police and said that he would blow up the police headquarters. He claimed to be the brother of “aatanki Kasab”, apparently referring to Ajmal Amir Kasab, the 26/11 terror attack convict who was hanged. “Kasab ka bhai bol raha hoon,” he said and hung up.
The mobile number was traced to Mulund, following which an FIR was registered at the Mulund police station. The police then tracked down the caller and arrested him on Wednesday.
An officer said that during his initial interrogation, the man told the police that he was mentally disturbed because of some family issues and that he made the threat call out of frustration.
