The 2025 edition of the JK Tyre-WIAA Women’s Rally to the Valley was flagged off today from the National Sports Club of India (NSCI) in Worli, Mumbai. Organised by the Western India Automobile Association (WIAA) and presented by JK Tyre, the event saw participation from more than 300 women driving nearly 100 cars.
Conducted in the Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) format, the rally brings together women from varied walks of life and levels of motorsport experience. Participants follow a pre-defined route while maintaining specific speeds, with penalties for early or late arrivals at checkpoints.
This year’s flag-off ceremony was attended by actress and model Pooja Batra, along with key representatives including Praveen Gupta, Chief Marketing Officer at JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, and Nitin Dossa, Executive Chairman of WIAA.
Sanjay Sharma, Head of Corporate Communication and Motorsport at JK Tyre, said that the event aims to make motorsports more inclusive while drawing attention to relevant social issues. Over the years, the rally has evolved to highlight causes such as women’s empowerment, road safety, environmental sustainability, and the role of women in traffic policing.
The rally will pass through key city landmarks and conclude in Nashik, where winners will be announced in a closing ceremony.
Addressing the media, WIAA’s Nitin Dossa said that the rally also serves as a platform to advocate for women’s rights, workplace equality, and education for girls. He noted the growing interest in the rally among both participants and the larger motoring community.
The event is conducted under the aegis of the Federation of Motor Sport Clubs of India (FMSCI), ensuring it adheres to national motorsport standards.
JK Tyre has supported various initiatives to encourage women in motorsport, including the Times Women’s Drive, Ladies Power Drive, and the Defence Wives Power Drive.
