Jammu Kashmir Pahalgam Terror Attack News Live Updates: As tensions remain rife between the two nations, the Pakistan military resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC), with Indian troops effectively responding, military sources told news agency PTI on Saturday. This is the second time in as many days that a gunfight ensued between India and Pakistan along the International Border since the terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians. Pakistani military fired at Indian positions across the LoC on Thursday night as well. No casualties have been reported in the firing.

India’s measures against Pakistan: A day after the Pahalgam terror attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee of Security (CCS) in New Delhi, following which the Centre announced multiple punitive measures against Pakistan, including the suspension of the 65-year-old Indus Waters Treaty, closing of the Attari land-border crossing and the expulsion of Pakistani military attaches. Pakistani nationals who entered the country via the Attari border were also asked to leave India before May 1.

Pahalgam terror attack: On April 22, Tuesday evening, a group of terrorists entered the Baisaran valley in Anantnag’s Pahalgam and opened fire on tourists in the area. At least 26 people died in the terror attack, while many were left injured. Preliminary investigations by J&K Police and NIA suggested that there were around 5 attackers, aided by two locals. Three terrorists – Hashim Musa alias Sulaiman, Ali Bhai alias Talha Bhai and Adil Hussain Thokar – were identified by security personnel two days after the attack.
