Aadit Bhagade, 17, a student of Navrachana Higher Secondary School in Sama, Vadodara, secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) 14 in the JEE Main results announced on Saturday. With his sights now set on cracking JEE Advanced to enter the prestigious IIT league, Aadit credits his success to the unwavering support of his parents, teachers, and friends.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Aadit said, “I spent the last two years preparing for JEE Main and JEE Advanced. I aimed to study for about six hours after returning home on school days and about 10 hours on holidays. I tried to analyse topics thoroughly and as deeply as I could in order to have a better understanding of the subjects that were taught. I used to discuss mock papers with my friends and we used to solve them together. Many of my friends have also scored ranks in the top 1000.”
The son of noted city physician Dr Prakash Bhagade and gynaecologist Dr Dilita Bhagade, Aadit says that the ‘mental endurance’ to put in long hours into preparations came from the fact that his mother made studying fun. “My entire family is career-oriented, and right from the start. My mother used to teach me at home and put in a lot of effort… She made me love study time. My entire family, teachers and friends have been extremely supportive and always told me, ‘Do your best, the results will come’. Whenever I used to feel fatigued from studying, I played a sport like cricket or table tennis with my parents.”
Aadit also adds that he has ‘stayed away from social media’, only restricting the use of a phone to communicate with family. Aadit said, “Currently, my focus is on JEE Advanced as I aim to get into IIT and my first choice will be IIT Bombay.”
