Jammu Kashmir Pahalgam Terror Attack News Live Updates: Pakistan Army continued to engage in ‘unprovoked firing’ along the Jammu and Kashmir’s Line of Control (LoC) in multiple sectors across four border districts, officials told news agency PTI Wednesday. The Indian Army responded effectively and proportionately to it, the officials added. This marked the sixth consecutive night of ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the LoC.
A series of meetings today: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be chairing multiple meetings today to review security preparedness. The Cabinet Committee on Security will meet for the second time since the terror attack after which Modi will chair a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs. The Cabinet’s Economic Affairs Committee will meet thereafter, following which a Cabinet meeting will be held.
Tourist spots closed in Jammu and Kashmir: The Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to shut down 49 tourist spots and to put in place extra layers of security and checks on the rest follows an audit, of close to 87 places across the valley, conducted by the security forces after the attack, The Indian Express has learnt. According to sources based on this audit, the Army will consider re-deploying and dominating several tourist spots across the Valley that will remain accessible to tourists.
