The romantic-comedy is being helmed by Varun’s father, veteran director David Dhawan, and is set to hit theatres on April 10, 2026. The film stars Mrunal Thakur, Mouni Roy, and Pooja Hegde in lead roles, promising a blend of love, humour, and vibrant Bollywood charm.

Produced by Ramesh Taurani, the film is described as a “whirlwind of romance, chaos and classic Bollywood flair with a fresh, modern twist.”

Interestingly, the film’s title is inspired by the popular track Ishq Sona Hai from David Dhawan’s hit film Biwi No.1, which featured Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Sushmita Sen.

The ensemble cast also includes Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, Chunkey Panday, Rakesh Bedi, and Ali Asgar in pivotal roles.

Varun Dhawan is a true family-man

In a candid conversation with Filmfare, Varun Dhawan spoke fondly of his father, filmmaker David Dhawan, calling him both his biggest critic and strongest supporter. He shared how his father has always helped him stay grounded, no matter how high the success.

Varun also reflected on his mother’s constant encouragement during his early days in the film industry. In an interview with The Indian Express, he recalled returning home with self-doubt, only to be reassured by her quiet strength. “She would always remind me that I was stronger than I believed,” he said.

Varun Dhawan married his childhood sweetheart Natasha Dalal in 2021, and in 2024, the couple welcomed their daughter, Lara.

Six months after her birth, he told Agenda AajTak, “My wife is scarier. A woman becomes more protective after childbirth. For me, she’s the superhero, and I’m learning from her.” He also shared his regret about missing a key moment: “My baby just started eating solids, and Natasha sent me a video. I was so upset I couldn`t see it happen.” It is also known outwardly that Natasha has stood by Varun long before the fame and through every phase of his life.

About his upcoming on-screen presence, Varun is also preparing for Border 2, which brings together a powerful cast including Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. Directed by Anurag Singh, the movie is a follow-up to the 1997 war film Border, a major hit that depicted the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
