The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Tuesday unveiled the revised schedule for the highly awaited T20 Mumbai League 2025. The tournament will now be held from June 4 to June 12, with matches scheduled at two prominent venues, the iconic Wankhede Stadium and the DY Patil Stadium. The rescheduling comes in light of the extended IPL 2025 season, which underwent calendar changes due to national priority considerations.
The league will feature a compact nine-day window packed with action, comprising 23 high-intensity matches. Each day will host four matches, two at each venue. Wankhede will see games starting at 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM, while DY Patil Stadium will stage its fixtures at 10:30 AM and 5:30 PM.
“The decision to revise the schedule of the T20 Mumbai League 2025 was taken unanimously, following careful deliberation with the MCA Apex Council and the League`s Governing Council. In alignment with national interests and to avoid any overlap with the TATA IPL, we felt it was important to create a dedicated window that allows fans in Mumbai to enjoy a complete, immersive experience, celebrating their homegrown heroes in a league that returns after six years. We are confident that this edition of the T20 Mumbai League will unearth new stars who will carry forward Mumbai`s rich cricketing legacy,” said Abhay Hadap, Secretary of MCA, as quoted from a press release by the board.
The tournament will commence with a marquee clash at DY Patil Stadium between ARCS Andheri, led by icon player Shivam Dube, and SoBo Mumbai Falcons, who will be represented by Shreyas Iyer. The opening day’s second fixture at the same venue will see Suryakumar Yadav’s Triumph Knights Mumbai North East square off against the Eagle Thane Strikers.
Simultaneously, fans at Wankhede Stadium will be treated to two blockbuster contests. The first features Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs locking horns with the Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals. This will be followed by a much-anticipated showdown between Ajinkya Rahane’s Bandra Blasters and North Mumbai Panthers, who have Prithvi Shaw as their marquee player.
The league stage will follow a round-robin format, with each of the eight participating teams playing five matches. The top four teams on the points table will progress to the semi-finals, both of which are scheduled for June 10 at Wankhede Stadium. The grand finale will also be played at the same venue on June 12. To ensure competitive fairness and uninterrupted action, reserve days have been designated for both the semi-finals (June 11) and the final (June 13), in case of weather interruptions.
