A Pakistani intruder was killed along the international border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Jammu district, a Border Security Force (BSF) spokesperson said on Saturday, adding that an infiltration bid from Pakistan was foiled.
On the intervening night of April 4 and 5, BSF personnel observed suspicious movement across the border, the spokesperson said. After some time, the personnel allegedly spotted an intruder crossing the IB. The intruder was challenged, but he did not stop, the spokesperson added.
Sensing the threat, the BSF personnel ‘’neutralised’’ the intruder, the spokesperson said, adding that his identity and the motive for infiltration are being ascertained. The BSF will lodge a “strong” protest with its Pakistani counterparts, the spokesperson added.
