In India’s renewable energy trajectory over the past decade, solar energy has witnessed a rapid increase in installations. Among the States, Rajasthan and Gujarat are leading in terms of higher solar power capacity. As of March 2025, solar power plays a major role in the renewable energy sector, surpassing wind and hydro power. Through the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana scheme, more than 10 lakh people have benefited by installing solar panels in their households.
