With a sharp escalation in the ongoing Israel-Iran military conflict, the Ministry of External Affairs in India has set up a 24X7 control room to monitor the situation and provide round-the-clock assistance and information.
“A 24×7 Control Room has been established in Ministry of External Affairs in view of the ongoing developments in Iran and Israel,” per a statement issued by the MEA on Tuesday.
On Monday, the MEA had said that the Indian embassy in Tehran was engaging Indian students in Iran to ensure their safety. “In some cases, students are being relocated with embassy’s facilitation to safer places within Iran. Other feasible options are also under examination,” the statement noted. Separately, the embassy is in touch with community leaders regarding welfare and safety, it said.

The MEA had earlier said that Indian embassies all across the region, were in touch with Indian community members and also guiding them on their safety and security.
A flare up in hostilities between Iran and Israel on Monday has triggered worries of a wider conflict that could severely affect the safety of people and the global economy.
