Vishnu revealed that many of his contemporaries in the film industry including Prabhas congratulated him on Kannappa’s success. “Prabhas garu messaged and congratulated me on the success. What I would give him as a payback will only be kept between both of us,” said Vishnu, adding that Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Nithin, Kalyanram, Allu Aravind, and Suresh Babu among others appreciated his performance. Vishnu revealed that he had to pledge all his properties to avail bank loan for producing Kannappa. “But importantly the success of the film gave me the confidence to narrate the kind of stories I want to tell,” he shared.
