Prabhas plays the role of Godman Rudra in Kannappa. The superstar’s cameo became the talk of the town before the film’s release. And fans of Prabhas have flocked to the theatres in large numbers to see their favourite star in action. All these resulted in Kannappa getting huge openings, and Vishnu is quick to acknowledge the impactful cameo of Prabhas. “Many may debate that the Kannappa openings could be due to the story, but I have no ego in accepting that I got these openings because of Prabhas. Because of casting him, you all showed interest in Kannappa, and the film reached out to every corner,” said Vishnu. He insisted that Prabhas and Mohanlal are such superstars that no amount of remuneration would have made them accept the film. He added, “They did Kannappa because they liked the concept, story and for the love of my father.”

“Prabhas congratulated me” – Vishnu

Vishnu revealed that many of his contemporaries in the film industry including Prabhas congratulated him on Kannappa’s success. “Prabhas garu messaged and congratulated me on the success. What I would give him as a payback will only be kept between both of us,” said Vishnu, adding that Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Nithin, Kalyanram, Allu Aravind, and Suresh Babu among others appreciated his performance. Vishnu revealed that he had to pledge all his properties to avail bank loan for producing Kannappa. “But importantly the success of the film gave me the confidence to narrate the kind of stories I want to tell,” he shared.
