It is only a matter of time before Arne Slot’s Reds are named as the champions of England. After a brilliant start to life in his first season, Slot and his men did tremendously well to manoeuvre their way past the club’s biggest obstacle in the form of Arsenal. However, with the Gunners failing to claim a win over Brentford in their most recent match, the PL title can come to Anfield in as soon as 3 Liverpool games.
Liverpool’s upcoming games in the League are against West Ham United at Home, Leicester City away and then Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield. Liverpool can get their hands on the coveted PL trophy for just the second time after their first win in 2019 in two ways :
- Liverpool win all 3 of thier next games – If the Reds manage to win all of their next 3 games, the title will be theirs with a win over Spurs in front of their own fans.
- Arsenal lose against Ipswich Town and Liverpool win against West Ham and Leicester. As things stand in the points table, Arsenal are ten points behind LFC with 63, while also having played 32 games, one more than the League leaders. With just six games left to play for the Gunners, a loss against Ipswich and two wins for LFC will make it mathematically impossible for Mikel Arteta’s men to chase them down. This will see the Reds be crowned champions as early as on 20th April and with 5 more games to go.
With Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk both extending their stay at Liverpool, a title win will only make their decision to stay more sweet.
