The multi-starrer comedy film Housefull 5, led by Akshay Kumar, is set to release in theatres on June 6. Ahead of its release, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed the film with a U/A 16+ certificate. The makers were asked to make minor dialogue modifications and certain visual cuts mounting to 11 seconds.
What has been censored in Housefull 5
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC has requested a total of 11 seconds of modifications. The dialogue nikal dungi was altered, and another line beginning with apne was tweaked. The makers were also asked to replace words like item and haram. Additionally, a dialogue at the 1 hour 53-minute mark was ordered to be removed.
Visual cuts and modifications
Regarding visual edits, the CBFC called for three cuts. A scene involving champagne was shortened, and two scenes featuring hand gestures were “suitably modified.” Another scene with “sensual visuals” was trimmed by 2 seconds. In total, 11 seconds of footage were censored.
The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 165.48 minutes — that is, 2 hours, 45 minutes, and 48 seconds. Due to the film having multiple climaxes, the CBFC granted two separate censor certificates. However, both versions have the same runtime.
