HONOR has been teasing the upcoming Magic V5 foldable smartphone for quite some time now. Recently, the company gave us a glimpse at the design of the device, apart from revealing the launch date. HONOR has now confirmed the thickness of the Magic V5. It appears that the successor to the Magic V3 will continue to set a new record for thinness and lightness.
HONOR’s Magic V5 will be the world’s slimmest foldable smartphone ever
According to HONOR, the Magic V5 will have a thickness of just 8.8mm. This means the device will take the crown of the slimmest closed foldable smartphone to date from the OPPO Find N5, which has a thickness of 8.9mm in the folded mode. Furthermore, the HONOR Magic V5 will also beat the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, which reports suggest will be 8.9mm thick.
In addition to flaunting an incredible slimness, the HONOR Magic V5 will also be the world’s lightest foldable smartphone, the company has teased. If we believe the rumors, the device will tip the scale at just 217g.
HONOR has also revealed colorways and memory configurations
In more teasers on the Chinese social networking website Weibo, HONOR has confirmed the colorways and memory configurations for the Magic V5. As per the company, the device will be available in Dawn Gold, Silk Road Dunhuang, Velvet Black, and Warm White (translated from Chinese) color variants. Furthermore, the brand has revealed it’ll offer the phone in 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB RAM and storage configurations.
As for other specs, the Magic V5 will apparently feature a large 6,100mAh third-gen silicon-carbon battery, which will support 66W fast charging. The company will power the phone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Other leaked specs include a 50MP main camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens, and an ultrawide-angle lens at the rear.
HONOR has already teased that the Magic V5 will come with a set of new powerful AI features and “PC-level” productivity. We’ll know more details regarding its price and global availability details at the launch event on July 2nd, so stay tuned.
