Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched two motorcycles in its premium portfolio – the CB750 Hornet and CB1000 Hornet SP. Bookings are now open for both models, with deliveries scheduled to begin in June 2025.
Pricing and Availability
The CB750 Hornet is priced at Rs. 8,59,500 while the CB1000 Hornet SP costs Rs. 12,35,900 (ex-showroom Gurugram). The CB750 Hornet will be available at all BigWing Topline and BigWing dealerships. The CB1000 Hornet SP will be sold exclusively through BigWing Topline dealerships.
Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President & CEO of HMSI, stated that the Indian premium motorcycle segment has shown growth among young riders seeking performance and style. He said the company aims to strengthen its presence in the biking space with these motorcycles representing Honda’s engineering, design, and performance capabilities.
Yogesh Mathur, Director of Sales and Marketing at HMSI, noted that Hornet has held a place among enthusiasts and that these new models combine technology, design, and road presence. He cited growing demand for performance motorcycles in India.
Engine Performance
The CB750 Hornet is powered by a newly developed 755cc inline 2-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a 270-degree crank. It produces 67.5 kW of power at 9,500 RPM and 75 Nm of torque at 7,250 RPM.
The CB1000 Hornet SP uses a 999cc liquid-cooled, inline four DOHC engine that generates 115.6 kW of power at 11,000 RPM and 107 Nm of torque at 9,000 RPM. Both engines are paired with a 6-speed gearbox and feature an assist and slipper clutch.
Technical Specifications
The CB750 Hornet uses a SHOWA SFF-BP inverted fork at the front and a monoshock damper with Pro-Link swingarm at the rear. The CB1000 Hornet SP features a SHOWA SFF-BP inverted fork at the front and ÖHLINS TTX36 at the rear.
For braking, the CB1000 Hornet SP has dual 310mm front disc brakes with Brembo radial-mount calipers and a 240mm rear disc. The CB750 Hornet has 296mm dual front disc brakes and a 240mm rear disc. Both models include dual-channel ABS.
Both motorcycles feature a 5.0-inch TFT display with Honda’s RoadSync app connectivity for smartphone integration, navigation, call alerts, and music control via Bluetooth. They include an illuminated multi-functional switch on the left handlebar for settings adjustment.
Riding Modes and Features
The CB750 Hornet offers four riding modes: Sport, Standard, Rain, and User. The CB1000 Hornet SP provides five riding modes, adding a second customizable User mode alongside Sport, Standard, and Rain modes.
Both models include Honda Selectable Torque control with three adjustment levels and an emergency stop signal. The CB1000 Hornet SP includes a bi-directional quickshifter as standard equipment.
Design and Colors
Both motorcycles feature a streetfighter design with bodywork and tank shrouds under the ‘Aggressive X Pure’ styling concept. They include an all-LED lighting system with a headlamp. The CB750 Hornet comes in two color options: Matte Pearl Glare White and Matte Ballistic Black Metallic. The CB1000 Hornet SP is available in Matte Ballistic Black Metallic with gold accents.
