Fans of Anushka Shetty are in for some disappointing news. Her upcoming film, Ghaati, is slated for release on September 5, 2025. And many fans thought they could see their favourite actress in action promoting the film. However, so far, they haven’t got any glimpse of Anushka. Meanwhile, producer Rajeev Reddy has started promoting the film and has been giving interviews.

Anushka’s personal choice

Anushka Shetty is headlining yet another female-centric film Ghaati. The film has been labelled as a rustic and revenge drama set in the backdrop of Odisha-Andhra border where the actress plays a Ghaati. Many fans waited to see her promoting the Krish directorial, but that doesn’t seem to be happening. But the filmmakers have now confirmed that Anushka decided to stay away from the promotions. When the producer was asked about why the actress has been missing in action, he replied that it’s her personal choice and they respect it. “When we started the film itself, we knew what she would be available for. It’s just her personal choice not to come, so we have to respect it as well,” said the producer, admitting that it is challenging to promote the film without its protagonist. He added, “When she told us upfront about her unavailability, we were already prepared for it. If someone promises me to come for the film promotions and then doesn’t turn up then it’s a problem, but she (Anushka) informed us well in advance.”

Ghaati cleared with U/A certificate

Meanwhile, Ghaati has completed its censor formalities recently. Despite its high action and heavy dose of violence, the CBFC cleared the film with a U/A certificate. The final runtime has been locked at 2 hours 37 minutes. Anushka Shetty will be seen in the role of Sheelavathi, a woman whose journey from victim to criminal to legend is inspiring.
