Action ki Tamannaah
Tamannaah Bhatia has reportedly signed for Rohit Shetty’s upcoming biographical action film, starring John Abraham as former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria. The Baahubali actor will apparently play Preeti Maria, Rakesh’s wife, who was his pillar of strength during his challenging career. According to a source, “Preeti supported him through some of the most dangerous and testing moments of his career.” This film marks John and Tamannaah’s second collaboration, following Vedaa last year. The movie is based on Rakesh’s autobiography, Let Me Say It Now, and chronicles his 36-year career tackling high-profile cases. Filming began in Mumbai and will continue across 40 locations, with a theatrical release planned for early next year. An official announcement is expected soon.
The politically incorrect superstar
Aamir Khan has had a few foot-in-the-mouth moments, but this time he seems to be “politically incorrect”. He recently revealed details about his character in the upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, which is apparently a remake of the Spanish film Campeones (2018). During a conversation with his fans in China, he stated, “I am working on a film now which is almost ready…It is about people who are differently-abled. It is about love, friendship and life.” He added that his character, Gulshan, in the film, has a lot of “internal problems”. He said, “He is not sensitive at all. He is very rude, politically incorrect and he insults everybody. He fights with his wife, mother. He is a basketball coach and he beats up his senior coach, and the story is how he changes.” The film is set to release on June 20.

Amid resistance in India, Abir Gulaal is slated to release in cinemas worldwide on May 9.
