Haj 2026
New Delhi, July 8: The Ministry of Minority Affairs has announced that the application process for Haj 2026 is officially open and will continue until July 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Interested pilgrims can submit their applications via the online Haj Application Form available on the official Haj Committee of India website and the ‘Haj Suvidha’ mobile app, compatible with both iOS and Android platforms.
The Haj Committee of India, functioning under the Ministry of Minority Affairs, has advised applicants to carefully read the Guidelines and Undertakings before submitting their forms. A machine-readable Indian International Passport, issued before the last date of application and valid at least until December 31, 2026, is mandatory.
“Cancellations, except in cases of death or grave medical emergencies, may attract penalties and financial losses,” the notification warned, urging applicants to ensure they are fully prepared before applying.
Government Support and Pilgrim Experience
The announcement comes on the heels of a successful Haj 2025, where over 1.75 lakh Indian pilgrims were assisted in their spiritual journey by the Indian government. Pilgrims had joined millions from around the world at Mount Arafat outside Mecca, performing the key ritual of Wuquf-e-Arafat.
To ensure their comfort, the Indian Medical Mission arranged for dedicated ambulances and special buses, even transporting hospitalized pilgrims to Mount Arafat. India’s Consul General in Jeddah, Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, affirmed that the coordination with Saudi authorities ensured a smooth and safe pilgrimage.
Government Commitment
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized the government’s continued commitment to making the Haj pilgrimage transparent, cost-effective, safe, and spiritually enriching. Over the past decade, India has implemented several reforms to streamline the Haj process and enhance the overall experience for its citizens.
The Indian Haj Mission, considered one of the largest government-led operations outside Indian territory, plays a pivotal role in facilitating all logistical and medical support, in close coordination with the Saudi Haj Ministry.
As the Haj 2026 registration window begins, Indian Muslims looking to fulfill their spiritual aspirations are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity with the government’s full backing and streamlined processes.
