Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday hinted at providing a university to Aravalli-Sabarkantha region in north Gujarat. The CM was delivering a public speech while inaugurating and laying foundation stones of carious developmental projects worth over Rs 282 crore in Aravalli district. Local BJP MLA from Modasa constituency and Minister of State Bhikhusinh Parmar, who was also present at the function, pointed out that the nearest university for the students of the region is in Patan, which is approximately 200 km away. Responding to this, CM Patel said, “The works which have been done are done and what is unfulfilled is unfulfilled (laughs). So, a university is sought, right? We will think over your demand.” As the Chief Minister said this, he was greeted by the public with a round of applause.
‘Sidelining’ Leaders
The “sidelining” of those who “hobnobbed with the BJP” from the Congress might have already begun. Sources say at least a score of names from Gujarat have been sent to the party leadership to be “placed under scrutiny”. These also include former MLAs, they said.
