GRSE signs MoU with Nagaland’s PWD for modular steel bridges

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Nagaland’s Public Works Department (Roads & Bridges) on March 19, 2025, to supply eight sets of double-lane modular steel bridges. The agreement marks GRSE’s first MoU with a northeastern state.

The shares of Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) were trading at ₹1,720.90 up by ₹79.55 or 4.85 per cent on the NSE today at 11.45 am.

The MoU was signed in Kohima by DIG Subrato Ghosh, ICG (Retd.), Director (Personnel) of GRSE, Shri Swaraj Meru, Chief Engineer of PWD Nagaland, and GRSE’s General Manager (Bailey Bridges) Natarajan Partheepan were in attendance.

GRSE, a Schedule ‘A’ Mini Ratna Category I company under the Ministry of Defence, has previously supplied modular bridges to the Border Roads Organisation, National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd., various state governments, and countries including Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. The company reports having delivered over 5,800 modular bridges to date.

The defence public sector undertaking has built more than 790 platforms, including 110 warships for the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and friendly foreign countries. GRSE’s engineering division also manufactures deck machinery, pre-fabricated portable steel bridges, and marine pumps.
