If you’ve ever misplaced your phone (and let’s be honest, who hasn’t?), you’re probably familiar with Android’s “Find My Device” tool. Well, Google has just announced a significant upgrade that is rolling out right now. Now called Find Hub, this Google feature allows you to track not only your Android devices but even people you’ve shared your location with.
“Find Hub” is the feature’s new branding in response to the expansion of its capabilities. It now goes far beyond helping you find your phone, making “Find My Device” a thing of the past. Google announced improvements to the ongoing I/O 2025 event.
Now, don’t worry—this rebranding isn’t going to change how things work right away. The Android Find Hub will still be your go-to spot for locating all your Android devices. As usual, it also works for your connected accessories and Bluetooth trackers. But now, it’s also your hub for keeping tabs on loved ones you’ve chosen to share your location with.
“Find My Device” switch to “Find Hub” will not change the operation
Google also dropped some exciting news about upcoming trackers that will play nicely with Find Hub. For example, Peak Skis is bringing Bluetooth tracking to their gear, so no more frantic searches through snowy mountains for a lost ski. Plus, Pixbee is working on some adorable Disney-themed tags for the little ones.
Looking ahead, we can expect even more tracking goodness. Later this year, Google plans to expand Find Hub to support satellite connectivity. While the specifics are still under wraps, the potential here is huge. Imagine being able to locate your devices (or even people) in areas without traditional cellular or Wi-Fi coverage. It feels like a natural and incredibly useful way to leverage Android’s growing satellite communication capabilities.
The new Find Hub branding should start rolling out today, May 13th, so keep an eye out for the update. Google also announced some cool partnerships with airlines to help track down lost luggage and the long-awaited arrival of ultra-wideband (UWB) support for more precise tracking.
