Australian cricket legend Adam Gilchrist was recently spotted enjoying a casual game of cricket with the staff members at the Worli Police Camp in Mumbai.

A video clip from the impromptu session quickly went viral on Instagram, capturing Gilchrist in action, batting with his signature flair. Known for revolutionising the wicketkeeper-batsman role in international cricket, Gilchrist was seen playing with a tennis ball, clearly relishing the opportunity to display his renowned skills in a relaxed setting.

Despite his retirement from the international scene, the left-handed batter reminded everyone of his brilliance with a series of trademark shots. One standout moment featured a classic drive, executed with his usual elegance, before he followed it up with a powerful strike, smashing a low full-toss straight down the pitch. In other news, Gilchrist recently shared his thoughts on the ongoing IPL 2025 season. When asked about his predictions for the tournament`s standings, the Australian legend expressed confidence in Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) securing the top two spots.

Speaking during a discussion on Cricbuzz, Gilchrist praised RCB`s impressive campaign and lauded Virat Kohli for his ability to anchor the innings, calling it a key factor in their success. He also highlighted the current form of Josh Hazlewood, noting how the Australian pacer’s bowling has been instrumental in RCB’s strong run this season.

“RCB and Mumbai are in 1st and 2nd positions, aren’t they? I think the way Virat is controlling innings, coupled with the skill of Hazelwood at the moment, is sublime,” Gilchrist remarked. “So I think there’s plenty of talent around them. But I’m saying the two that are there will be 1 and 2,” he added, confidently backing these two sides to finish at the top of the IPL standings.
