The South Korean tech giant has already released the One UI 8 Beta 2 update for those devices earlier this month. Now, the firm is working on expanding the availability of One UI 8 Beta to older high-end handsets. The company could release the One UI 8 Beta update for the Galaxy S24 series of devices next, suggests a new leak.
Samsung has started testing One UI 8 Beta for the Galaxy S24 series
Tarun Vats, a tipster on X, has spotted the One UI 8 Beta firmware for the Galaxy S24 series smartphones on Samsung’s servers. The build number of the firmware is “S928BXXU4CYF7.” This indicates that Samsung has finally started working on a major software update for last year’s Galaxy S series of flagship smartphones.
As of now, Samsung is currently testing One UI 8 Beta for the European and Indian editions of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The company could begin testing the same update for the other Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra models soon.
It’ll be a “minor” update with some new features
One UI 8.0 will be the eighth iteration of Samsung’s One UI. Based on Android 16, it will be a rather minor update with a few new features. Reports suggest that the new functionalities will include alarm groups, file filtering in My Files, upgrades to the Now Bar, split-screen enhancements, a panic button for the Secure Folder, and several animations for various operations.
In addition, Samsung’s new UI for the Galaxy S24 series and other devices will offer support for improved multitasking. Besides, you can expect some changes to Samsung Internet and Samsung Reminders, and plenty more.
