Galaxy gaming ignites with Samsung’s Game Booster overhaul

If you like to play games on your Galaxy Device, then you should be familiar with Samsung’s Game Booster app. This is a useful application for enhancing the gaming experience, and it comes with a set of useful features. While it’s already very useful and feature-packed, Samsung does not want to rest on its Laurels. The company just released a massive Game Booster update that adds a ton of new features. X user Galaxy Techie first spotted these features and made a post explaining them. They include new functionality and neat additions.

Samsung brought a massive update to Game Booster

This is a rather significant update. Samsung released 10 new features. Some of them aren’t available at the moment.

Respawn timer

We’re wondering how Samsung will manage to pull this feature off. According to the description, Respawn Timer will display a timer over the screen letting you know how long it will take your character to respawn after dying. That’s pretty odd, as different games have different Respawn rates. Also, most of the games have their own timers. So, it’ll be interesting to know how this will work.

Dash Notifications

If you’re knee-deep in a race or a battle, the last thing you need is to have notifications blocking your view. This is where Dash Notifications come in. With this feature enabled, new notifications will simply slide across the screen in a small pill-shaped capsule. This way, the notifications are less intrusive.

Game Sound

This one is pretty straightforward. It will give you the option to mute your game audio. Game Sound may not seem like a useful feature, but it has its uses. Sometimes, people would like to listen to their own music while playing games. It can be tedious digging into the sound settings and lowering all the volume sliders manually. So, having a one-button solution can make it easier.

AI Mute

Keeping with audio, there is AI mute. The description for this one reads, “Identify the game screen, implement intelligent mute and volume recovery when you launch the game.” That’s not super descriptive, but we’re pretty sure that it will automatically mute the game when you launch it. However, it could also only mute the game when you are not playing it, and unmute it when it detects that you started playing again.

Super Microphone

This feature is divided into two functionalities. The first one, named “Always keep mic available in game,” will allow your system’s microphone to be accessible in the game even when other applications are accessing it. The second option is called “Switch Bluetooth mic on.” If you toggle this one, it will switch on the microphone for your Bluetooth devices in order to improve voice calls. So, if someone calls you while you’re playing a game, your phone will automatically use the Bluetooth device’s microphone.

Max Boost

The most straightforward Game Booster update is Max Boost. As the name suggests, this feature will push the phone’s chipset to its limit to offer the best gaming performance. Obviously, it will have an effect on your phone’s battery life and possibly cause it to overheat.

Voice Changer

This one is pretty self-explanatory. The app will come with a preset list of different effects that you can apply to your voice. This is mostly for multiplayer games when you’re talking to other people. Whether you want to mask your identity or just fool around, the voice changer will change your voice.

Right now, there are eight different Voice Changer effects that you can use. There is Little girl, Middle-aged man, Sci-fi horror, Ethereal, Warbling, Lo-Fi Adrenaline, Baby, and Robot.

Game Controller

Unfortunately, Samsung doesn’t offer a description for this feature, and it’s not available at the moment. However, we can guess that it has something to do with physical game controllers. Hopefully, this feature will force games to use physical game controllers, even if they’re not intrinsically compatible. If so, then that could be a great move. Sometimes, it’s just better to play with a physical controller, but it can be frustrating when a game doesn’t support them.

Virtual Gamepad

This feature also came with no description, and it’s unavailable. There’s no telling what it will do. Virtual Gamepad could possibly override the game’s native gamepad and replace it with a customizable overlay. That’s only speculation, so we will have to wait for more information to be sure.

4D Vibration

The final feature also did not come with a description. We don’t know what this feature will bring, but we can tell that it will make the vibration function in your phone even better. Ostensibly, it will offer more detailed and nuanced vibrations based on the content in the game. You can probably liken it to the HD Vibrations present in the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons

This is a pretty big Game Booster update, and it seems like it was made in preparation for One UI 8. Samsung is gearing up to Launch One UI 8 relatively soon, despite taking so long to release One UI 7.
