From God to President of India

When Adipurush was released in 2023, director Om Raut was panned by one and all. Two years after he was subjected to merciless trolling, Raut has announced his next film. This time, he is going to tell the story of Abdul Kalam, the former President of India.

Titled Kalam: The Missile Man of India, the film will feature the versatile Dhanush in the lead role. Abhishek Agarwal of The Kashmir Files fame and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series will be jointly bankrolling the biopic.

This film will be Om Raut’s last chance to redeem himself. Adipurush hardly found any votaries. He has shown inclination towards mounting the stories of personalities from history, be it ancient, medieval or modern.

As for actor Dhanush, he awaits the release of Kubera. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the film will hit the cinemas on June 20 unless it gets postponed for some reason. The film’s promotions have to be kicked off in a few days’ time. Otherwise, it would be deemed to have been postponed unofficially.
