The first look of Takshakudu, starring Anand Devarakonda and directed by Vinod Anantoju, has been officially unveiled, and it has already caught everyone’s attention with its haunting tone and striking visuals. The film, backed by producer Naga Vamsi S under Sithara Entertainments, promises a unique mix of folklore, mystery, and emotion.
The poster shows Anand in a rugged, intense look, standing against a backdrop of smouldering ruins, hinting at a world shaped by loss, belief, and vengeance. Fans have been quick to react online, calling it one of Anand’s most intriguing projects yet.
Speaking about the film, director Vinod Anantoju said that Takshakudu is a deeply personal story that comes from his love for the folk tales he grew up hearing. He said, “Takshakudu is very close to my heart. It comes from the kind of stories I grew up hearing, folklores whispered in villages, tales that stayed with me long after the fire died out. Making this film was not easy. It took years of patience, endless nights of writing and rewriting, and the hard work of a team that believed in the same dream. Every frame carries that effort, that love, and that fight to bring an old story to life on screen. For the audience, Takshakudu is not just a thriller film. It is a journey into a world where myths breathe, where silence can scare, and where every sound makes your heart race. I hope you feel the same thrill we felt while making it, and carry the story with you even after the screen turns dark.”
Actor Anand Devarakonda also opened up about what drew him to the project. He said, “Takshakudu movie is more than just an action drama. What truly caught my imagination was how the director, Vinod, drew from the ancient folklore and reimagined it for our times. At its heart, this story isn’t about heroes or villains. It’s about what greed can do, how it pulls people to the edge, and sometimes makes them lose everything without even realizing it. Playing Suri gave me a chance to step into a world where every action has consequences, and every character faces their own demons. I can’t wait for you all to see how this film goes beyond thrills and action, and asks us to look at the things that drive us, and what happens when we go too far.”
Set in a remote tribal region, Takshakudu follows the story of a blind man and his loyal dog who embark on a journey through an unforgiving world after a cursed night reduces their village to ashes. The film dives deep into folklore and emotion, exploring how darkness can live both within and around us.
