Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Sunday said that his government would provide financial assistance to students preparing for competitive exams and young graduates.
Speaking here on the occasion of the completion of three years of his government, the CM said a dedicated platform would be formed to enhance employment-oriented skills of youth through training. A concrete policy for the regular appointment of ex-servicemen and contractual employees will be formulated soon. Government projects worth up to Rs 10 crore will be awarded exclusively to contractors in the state, he said.
Amid concerns surrounding “pahari vs non-pahari” debates, the CM said that those who promote regionalism and caste-based divisions are doing an injustice not only to the leaders who sacrificed their lives for the state’s formation but also to their motherland. “The government has formulated over 30 new policies for the state’s holistic development and is implementing several new initiatives. As a result, Uttarakhand’s progress is clearly visible in all sectors,” he said. He spoke of key initiatives, including the provision of three LPG cylinders for Antyodaya families, 30% horizontal reservation for women in the state, 10% horizontal reservation for statehood activists, old-age pension benefits and reinstatement of sports quota in government jobs.
