
Punjab Kings pacer Lockie Ferguson has set the speed gun ablaze in the IPL 2025 season as he leads the charts for the fastest deliveries bowled in the ongoing edition. The Kiwi speedster bowled a 153.2 kmph thunderbolt during the Lucknow Super Giants vs Punjab Kings clash.
Rajasthan Royals’ Jofra Archer and Gujarat Titans’ Kagiso Rabada are the other bowlers to breach the 150-kph mark thus far this edition.
The IPL has witnessed some of the fastest international bowlers line up for franchises across 17 editions. Australian quick Shaun Tait was recorded to have bowled the quickest ball ever in IPL history. Playing for Rajasthan Royals, Tait bowled a 157.7 delivery to Delhi Daredevils batter Aaron Finch in 2011. Incidentally, Ferguson also holds the record for the second fastest delivery ever in the IPL, with his searing 157.3 kph during the IPL 2025. Umran Malik is the only Indian to breach the 157-kph mark in IPL history.
