This sentiment appears to have not faded out even in 2025, and the reaction of the people in Kerala when they spotted the superstar right in front of their eyes recently underscored the same. Rajinikanth was in Attappadi, Palakkad district, for the shooting of his upcoming actioner Jailer 2, helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar, wherein he will reprise the role of “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian from the 2023 blockbuster Jailer.
Now, photos and videos showing the superstar in God’s Own Country have gone viral. In one of the videos, Rajinikanth can be seen arriving in a white car, accompanied by his team. As soon as he stepped out of the vehicle, the crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of their beloved star went wild, screaming “Thalaiva!” while whistling and cheering. As the video progresses, Rajinikanth can also be seen walking towards the crowd, waving and expressing gratitude for their love with folded hands, before getting back into the vehicle and proceeding to the set.

Meanwhile, another photo from the sets of Jailer 2, featuring the superstar among the cast and crew of the movie, busy with their filming work, has also grabbed the attention of many. Ahead of the commencement of the shooting, actor Ramya Krishnan, who reprises her role as Pandian’s Vijaya, also shared an update on social media. Sharing a photo of herself in full costume and makeup for the shoot, she wrote, “26 years of Padayappa and 1st day of shooting Jailer 2.”
It appears that the Tamil legend, after completing Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, has immediately moved on to his next project, which is Jailer 2, without taking a proper break. According to reports, he finished his portions for Coolie in the first week of March and, in less than a fortnight, joined the sets of Jailer 2. Coolie is set to hit the screens on August 14, 2025.
