Experts in the CSR field emphasise that adopting an inclusive approach, involving all stakeholders, is essential for CSR initiatives, as it facilitates desired development and enables collective progress

To advance this agenda, the Software Exporters Association of Pune (SEAP) recently organised the Pune Social Impact Dialogue in Pune. The event featured a panel discussion where experts shared their insights into effective CSR implementation. The programme was inaugurated by Sonali Deshpande, Chairperson of the Persistent Foundation.

Key dignitaries in attendance included SEAP President Vinita Gera; Vice President Shivraj Sable; Secretary and Coordinator of SEAP’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Forum, Vidyadhar Purandare; Treasurer Anand Ranade; and SEAP Executive Committee Members Abhijit Atre, Nitin Deshpande, Ashutosh Parasnis, Amod Deshpande, Shivesh Vishwanathan, and Uday Gujar, among others.

Experts discussed that it is well recognised that corporate CSR funds often fail to reach the right social organisations. To address this challenge, SEAP has taken the initiative to ensure effective utilisation of CSR resources. Through the establishment of the ESG Forum, SEAP aims to connect the right institutions with the right projects. As part of this initiative, SEAP organised the Pune Social Impact Dialogue, fostering collaboration and dialogue between key stakeholders to drive impactful social change.

Sonali Deshpande, Chairperson of Persistent Foundation, emphasised that India is known globally as a nation of youth, with the largest young population. However, the country faces a challenge in providing sufficient job opportunities. Therefore, young people need to explore opportunities through self-employment and strive to move forward.
