Veteran singer Anuradha Paudwal recently shared an insight into her career transition, revealing that the fickle nature of the public’s perception was a big factor in her shift towards devotional music. In an exclusive interview with Jitesh Pillai on In The Ring with Filmfare, she spoke about her lifelong spiritual inclination, which was eventually increased by her observations of the music industry.

Anuradha Paudwal recalled how she witnessed even highly respected artistes facing harsh and unnecessary public criticism. She was shocked by how quickly people would judge, often without a second thought, remarking that “no one is spared by the public.” She found it particularly disturbing when they would dismiss the contributions of legends, a mindset she found really disrespectful. She questioned, “How can you speak like that about a legend who has carried Bollywood on their shoulders?” highlighting the changing nature of people’s views.
She explained that these experiences, led her to make a big decision. She decided that once she reached the pinnacle of her career, she would dedicate herself to devotional music. This was a conscious choice, which happened not just by her personal faith but also by a desire to move beyond the unpredictable world of fame and judgment. It was a way to find solace and a deeper purpose away from the constant scrutiny of the public eye.
